PISA - FLORENCE

Pick up at the pier in Livorno and drive to Pisa along the old scenic Via Aurelia n. 1, the same path as the original Roman road built 2000 years ago. Stop in the monumental area of the Campo dei Miracoli (“Field of the Miracles”) in Pisa next to the Leaning Tower where you have free time to walk and explore the area (Baptistry and Duomo).

Next, drive to Florence (approx. 1 hour 20 minutes) with a first stop at the panoramic Piazzale Michelangelo to enjoy a breath-taking view over the centre of the city.

Drive downtown via the Pitti Palace, the elegant Via Tornabuoni and all the major sights of the city with the possibility of stops at any of the places you would like to see in more detail.

If you are interested in museums such as the Accademia for the statue of David or the Uffizi Gallery, we'll help you to get a reservation (cost of the ticket not included in the price of the service).

The itinerary is very flexible and you are free to change and spend your time in the way that suits you best.

On the way back to the ship, we have the possibility of a scenic drive into the Chianti countryside around Vinci, the birthplace of Leonardo.

CINQUETERRE

Pick up at the pier in Livorno and drive to Riomaggiore (approx. 1 hour 30 minutes), the first of the five fishing villages of the Cinqueterre.

Visit Riomaggiore and then don’t miss the easy walk along the scenic “Via dell’amore”, the path of love, less then 1 mile, connecting Riomaggiore to Manarola, the second village.

Time to visit Manarola and join a boat trip to Vernazza the fourth village, to enjoy breath-taking views of one of the most beautiful parts of the Italian coast.

At the end of your free time, pick up at the parking area and drive back to Livorno with the possibility to visit or have a panoramic view of Corniglia, the third village.

PISA – LUCCA & SURROUNDINGS

Pick up at the pier in Livorno and drive to Pisa along the old scenic Via Aurelia n. 1, the same path as the original Roman road built 2000 years ago. Stop in the monumental area of the Campo dei Miracoli (“Field of the Miracles”) in Pisa next to the Leaning Tower where you have free time to walk and explore the area.

Next, drive to Lucca, always driving scenic roads. First stop is a visit to San Frediano church, then a walk along the impressive city walls, a visit the incredible Amphitheatre square then drop off at Piazza San Michele, the centre of the old town and free time to explore.

At the end of your time in Lucca, we’ll move to the surrounding gorgeous countryside famous for the production of the extra-virgin olive oil, one of the best in Italy, and the villas built in the past by the noble families of Lucca. Possibility of wine and oil tastings and visit of the villas.

CHIANTI CLASSICO – SAN GIMIGNANO

Pick up at the pier in Livorno and  drive to the Chianti Classico wine region, the land of the “Black rooster”, famous all over the world for the red wine, the small mediaeval towns, hamlets and castles.

The first small town we meet is San Casciano where we'll start a wonderful scenic drive among wineyards, olive groves and medieval castles.

We'll drive next to two of the most important and beautiful castles of the area, "Il Gabbiano" and "Il Palagio", then on to the "Antinori" properties, the major wine-maker in the chianti.

Stop at a local winery making the great chianti classico red wine and have a guided tour of the estate followed by wine tasting.
At the end drive to the unique San Gimignano, "the medieval Manhattan", with 15 mediaeval towers still standing in the centre of the old town. Free time to visit the old town and shopping in the several shops of the centre.

Possibility to stop at a local winery of the area famous for the white wine "Vernaccia di San Gimignano".
