Some routes my clients asked me to drive in 2004-2007


CHIANTI CLASSICO, the land of the black rooster
A scenic drive among the rolling hills of the tuscan countryside, along the famous “wine road” leading to the heart of the chianti region. Visit the old market square of Greve in Chianti, the medieval hamlet of Montefioralle, the old capital Radda in Chianti and some other country villages; possibility of wine tastings at a local Chianti classico estate.



SAN GIMIGNANO-SIENA, scenes of the middle age and the pilgrim’s route
The route used during the middle age by the pilgrims going to Rome and Jerusalem, known as the via Francigena; visit the medieval Manhattan S. Gimignano with its 17 towers, the capital of the crystal glass Colle Valdelsa, the fortress of Monteriggioni and at the end Siena, the pearl of the middle age famous also for its horse race “Palio”.



VINCI, PISA, LUCCA; Leonardo’s house and western highligths
A drive to the coast, with the first stop in Vinci, the birthplace of Leonardo visiting the house where he was born and the small town of Vinci hosting the museum. Continue to Pisa to visit Campo dei Miracoli, where the leaning tower, the duomo and the baptistery are located; the remaining part of the day is dedicated to the hometown of Giacomo Puccini, Lucca and its masterpieces.



BRUNELLO & PECORINO :: red wine, cheese and lovely small towns
To explore the area where the sheep cheese Pecorino di Pienza, and the red wines Brunello di Montalcino and Vino Nobile di Montepulciano are produced; the countryside made famous by the movie “the English patient”. Visit the wonderful
Montepulciano, the first renaissance town Pienza, the capital of the Brunello wine, Montalcino.
