About me - Giovanni and Sunflower Tours



Hello, I'm Giovanni Sirabella who founded Sunflower Tours, after travelling all over the world many years on a cruise ship. I was Purser of the famous “Achille Lauro”, hijacked in 1985 by Palestinian terrorists, and of the “Italia Prima”, one of the few 5 stars cruise ships in Italy.

In 1998, I decided I had seen enough of the ocean and realised my dream to move to Tuscany, one of the most beautiful countrysides in the world. After years of escorting about 500 passengers on tours my wish was to work with very small groups of people. First I was a tour director for the American travel agencies "Go Ahead Vacations" (EF Cultural Tours, Boston) and "Overseas Adventures Travel" (Grand Circle). Then, after gaining these several years of experience, I founded my own company, "Sunflower Tours".


Today I am a very happy man, enjoying the “slow life” of the countryside and most of the time personally driving his clients around with the result that they often become good friends.
