The Tuscan countryside

The Chianti Classico district is the countryside between Siena and Florence, the land of the “Gallo Nero” symbol of the region and of the high quality red wine, famous all over the world.

The territory is characterized by vineyards, olive orchards, very well preserved medieval hamlets and castles; nowadays many of the various restored farmhouses, host typical country restaurant and agritourisms.

The countryside to the south of Siena has something magic; the breath-taking landscape of the Crete Senesi, the “pecorino” cheese from Valdorcia, the red wines Brunello di Montalcino and Nobile di Montepulciano, the “bistecca fiorentina” from Valdichiana.

The territory is also rich with lovely small towns like Pienza, Montalcino and Montepulciano, old hot springs like Bagno Vignoni and Terme S.Filippo and abbeys like Sant’Antimo and San Salvatore.
